Reserve Team News.
Hello everyone,
Since my last update the second team has managed to find a bit of form with three wins on the bounce. Firstly, we had a 1-0 home win in the League Trophy against Brighouse Old Boys which sets us up for a semi-final tie against Leeds City Reserves. Next was a comfortable and much needed league win away at Ossett Common Reserves, and finally a semi-final win at home in the Hulme Cup beating Ripon City Reserves 1-0 taking us to the final which will be played on 26th April at Harrogate Town. The other semi has yet to be played so we don’t know who we will play.
These three victories will hopefully be the start of a run of results that will see our league position improve and, who knows, maybe win some silverware as well! The old football cliché “Take One Game at a Time” springs to mind however, so with that in mind a league game at home against Horbury beckons. We must be on our game for this one as Horbury will come to Manse Lane looking for revenge after we dumped them out of the League trophy with an emphatic 5-1 win. That particular game was probably our best performance of the season and a repeat of the score line wouldn’t go amiss. Let’s hope we can finish March with a bang and kick on into April,
