Reserve Team News.

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

It was the same old story on Monday night as the reserve team lost 1-0 to Boroughbridge with the goal coming with the last kick of the game. In an even game, we created a number of chances in the first half from which we should have taken the lead. The forwards seem to lack confidence in front of goal and panicked when chances fell their way. The second half was a very tight affair with neither side really looking as though they were going to win the game. However an error in the last minute meant that the chances we missed in the first half were punished and Boroughbridge took the points.

Although the result was a blow it is not terminal to the rest of the season. We need to put the result behind us and focus on Saturday’s Hulme Cup semi final. It is imperative that we bounce back from the disappointment and finish the season strongly. We can still win the Hulme cup and finish in the top three of the league. This would represent a huge improvement on last season and provide a platform for a title challenge next season.

Mark Pedel (Reserve Team Manager).
